Course Description

In this course during lectures PhD students will acquire knowledge of algae classification, phototrophic and heterotrophic cultivation of algae, formulation of media for both cultivation types, different cultivation modes, types of bioreactors for phototrophic and heterotrophic cultivations, production of biomass and different products of algae metabolism (e.g. paramylon, vitamin E etc.), downstream processes and use of biomass and metabolic products of algae. At the end of lectures PhD students will prepare written seminar from one lectures unit.
