COURSE CONTENT
- Introduction to analytical chemistry and basic procedures in in chemical analysis
- Gravimetric methods of analysis
- Volumetric (titrimetric) methods of analysis
- Fundamentals of UV-Vis spectrometric analysis
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- define and explain the fundamental terms used in chemical analysis
- list and classify analytical techniques
- list, describe and explain fundamental principles of basic techniques in chemical analysis (sample preparation methods, separation methods for removal of interferents, concentration)
- define and explain basic terms and describe fundamental principles of sample analysis using gravimetric, volumetric and UV-Vis spectrometric techniques
- independently prepare sample for analysis and perform simple gravimetric, volumetric and UV-Vis spectrometric analysis following provided procedure
- calculate sample composition using data obtained by gravimetric, volumetric and UV-Vis spectrometric anaysis
