The Laboratory for Meat and Fish Technology operates within the Department of Food Engineering of the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology of the University of Zagreb. It was founded in 1957 within the Department for General Chemical and Food Technology of the Technical Faculty in Zagreb. The main activity of the Laboratory for Meat and Fish Technology is the education of students of the undergraduate and graduate studies

and postgraduate studies in acquiring knowledge and skills in the field of technology and hygiene of foods of animal origin. Research of the Laboratory is based on the study of microbiological safety and quality of animal products with the application of modern analytical techniques.
