Fungi, yeasts and molds, taxonomy and morphology, reproduction, feeding and breeding. Protists, morphology, distribution and activity, reproduction. Viruses, morphology, properties, classification. Properties, conditions of growth and development of microbes and microbial metabolism. Mass transfer through the membrane. The requirements for microbial food. Autotrophic, heterotrophic and hipotrophic microbes. Physical and chemical requirements for growth. Growing microbial culture media. Macromolecules. Metabolism, anabolism, catabolism.
