Description:
The course includes the following methodological units: Gasses (ideal, real, non-covalent interactions), thermodynamics (heat, work, internal energy and enthalpy, Gibbs energy and entropy), phase equilibria (pure substances and multicomponent systems, chemical potential, colligative properties), chemical equilibria (thermodynamic approach), electrochemistry (ionic and electrode theory), chemical kinetics (laws and theories of reaction rates, mechanisms), transport phenomena (viscosity and diffusion). The theoretical material is supplemented by seminars in which problems from the topics covered in the lectures are solved, as well as by laboratory exercises in which students carry out simple measurements and analyze and interpret the results obtained.
