The Laboratory for Physical Chemistry and Corrosion acts as an independent research and teaching unit since the foundation of the Biotechnology Department at the Faculty of Technology in 1956 After the reorganization of the Faculty of Technology in 1975, the Laboratory was a part of a unique Department for Physical Chemistry within the OOUR Institute of Engineering Chemistry of the Faculty of Technology.
With the foundation of the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology in 1979, the Laboratory for Physical Chemistry and Corrosion became an integral part of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
