Laboratorij za toksikologiju

The Laboratory for Toxicology was established in 1988 as a separate unit within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology of the University of Zagreb. Until then, and since 1974, teaching and scientific activities were carried out within the Laboratory for Biochemistry of the Department for Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology.

The former heads of the Laboratory for Toxicology, two distinguished professors, Prof. Jasna Kniewald, PhD, founder of the Laboratory for Toxicology and Prof. Branimir Šimić, PhD, laid the foundation of the activity and values of the Laboratory with their knowledge, experience, love for science and truth. The further development and activities of the Laboratory were continued by the current Laboratory Head and a long-time employee, Assoc. Prof. Ivana Kmetič, PhD.
