The Laboratory for Biochemistry was founded in 1956 when it was established within the Food Technology Department of the Faculty of Technology, and since 1979, it has been operating within the Department for Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology of the University of Zagreb.
