Laboratory For Drying Technologies And Monitoring Of Biologically Active Compounds in the Centre for Food Technology and Biotechnology in Zadar.

Within the project “Marasca Sour Cherry (Prunus cerasus var. Marasca) as Ingredients for Functional Foods”, (IPA 2007/ HR/16IPO/001-040302), Science and Innovation Investment Fund (Reference: EuropeAid/128624/M/ACT/HR), measure: Regional Competitiveness Operational Programme 2007-2009, the aforementioned Laboratory was established and officially opened on August 29, 2011. On the 10th regular session of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, on July 16, 2013, Prof. Verica Dragović-Uzelac, PhD, was appointed the head of the Laboratory.

The Laboratory is infrastructurally equipped for conducting a wide spectrum of physical and chemical analyses and the determination of all types of bioactive compounds, enzymes, amino acids, vitamins, herbal hormones, fibres, etc. Within the project, related research is conducted in addition to national and international scientific research projects, consulting services, expert elaborates and technological projects, cooperation with large, small and medium-sized enterprises, education of students at the master’s doctoral level, foreign exchange students, etc.
